Kiwi movie opportunity

The 2008 New Zealand Film Festival ("NZFF") in China will be held from 2nd – 22nd June 2008.  It will be the fourth New Zealand Film Festival in China presented jointly by the China Film Bureau and the New Zealand Film Commission, and coordinated by the Pacific Culture and Arts Exchange Centre (PCAEC).
The Festival will visit Ningbo, Beijing and Xian and anyone interested in a sponsorship or other opportunity can contact Jim He on Jim.He@nz.nufarm.com

NZCTA Events Report

Shanghai Expo 2010 was the subject of a briefing from Philip Gibson, Government Commissioner for the Expo at an event hosted by Minter Ellison in association with NZCTA on 1 April. NZCTA is making arrangements for Gibson to repeat the briefing in the Bay of Plenty and Hawkes Bay later this month.


The NZCTA Trade Mission to the Canton Fair 103 in association with partners EMA took place in Guangzhou 13/22 April. It was accompanied by a civic mission arranged by Auckland City Council to its sister city. NZCTA  had been appointed NZ agent for the International Pavilion at the Pazhou Hall of the Canton Fair. Exhibitors reported good traffic and high interest despite additional security measures.

NZCTA at FTA signing

Lifetime member, Vic Percival ONZM, was a special Government guest at the April signing in Beijing and was acknowledged and greeted by Premier Wen. Executive members, Richard Fyers and Stephen Wong also were amongst NZCTA members attending.

Visa problems?

The Chinese Government reportedly is not issuing multi trip visas at present. If you have had a problem with a visa you wish to share so we can take it up with appropriate authorities please contact david.catty@nzcta.co.nz
